Not Metal at all
Description says "Brushed Nickel Light Switch Cover Twill Cast Metal Decorative Outlet Cover"They are not metal, they have a metallic finish on a plastic base. There are two parts to the cover, a spacer plate on the back and the decorative face. I had to remove the back to get the cover to sit closer to the switch, otherwise only an 1/8" of the toggle is exposed. Expensive for what they are.

color is darker than pictured and does not match brushed nickel
The plates are nice but darker than the image shown of brushed nickel at time of purchase which I ordered to match my faucet. The faucet color is brushed nickel along with everyhthing else in my bathroom so I'll jave to replace the plates:(
